High up in the Mendocino Coast range mountains with an amazing view of Mt. Lassen in the distance, an orchard was planted by a homesteader in the early 1900's. Recently a family has been working to restore the orchard and bring it back into production. The varieties are mostly unknown, but some heirloom varieties such as Winesap and Blue Pearmain are evident along with Golden Delicious. Apples that the bears didn't get were harvested and pressed during the harvest season. This cider is fermented fully dry in neutral red wine barrels with native yeasts and bottle conditioned.
