Ferme de Beau Soleil - Cidre Fermier Breton (750 mL)
Ferme de Beau Soleil - Cidre Fermier Breton (750 mL)
A traditional French farmhouse cider from the Beau Soleil farm in the Brittany region of France. Made with a blend of 14 different apple varieties, including bittersweet and bittersharp apples native to France and common in many classic French ciders, as well as some sweet and acid forward apples. All apples are organically grown on the Beau Soleil farm.
Traditional french methods of cider making result in a beautiful cuvée of a cider blend. Low temp & slow fermentation, and keeved to naturally filter the cider, build carbonation & structure, and soften tannins. The result is a medium bodied, slightly off-dry cider. Rich in fruity apple characters with soft tannins, balancing acidity, soft floral notes, and a touch of woody character. A zing of lemon / lime zest that we love in French ciders. A great cider for food pairing - good as an aperitif, through the meal, or as dessert.
Ferme de Beau Soleil is a third-place property enjoyed by locals as a place to visit and connect with farming and the outdoors. As with many French cideries, it's also an operating dairy farm with cows roaming the orchard before the harvest season. Certified organic farming practices in their orchards, which is where 100% of the apples for their cider come from. Thomas Renouard and his family have been producing cider commercially on this estate since 1975. To learn more about Ferme de Beau Soleil, visit their website here.
