Idol Cider House - Cidre Rouge Coferment (750 ml)
Idol Cider House - Cidre Rouge Coferment (750 ml)
Idol Cider House's Cidre Rouge is a Rosé cider made by blending and fermenting estate grown heirloom Geeveston Fanny apples (originally from Tasmania) with the skins of Oregon-grown Pinot Noir grapes. A fusion of refreshing apple with the delicate red fruits and tannins of Pinot Noir.
This is a dry cider with well balanced tannins and acidity (medium-plus). Aromatics: of ripe bittersweets, red fruit (cherry), slight twig/wood notes. Bold bursts of fresh apple, apple skin, and slight grape skin. The fresh apple flavor is strong at the start of the palate and then comes back for the linger. Drying tannins on finish. A very well made coferment that expresses the apple & cider quite well with nice supporting grape notes.
About Idol Cider House: Idyll Acres grows a wide range of premium cider apple varieties on their orchards in Oregon's Willamette Valley. For years, they have provided cider makers from the Pacific Northwest and beyond with fruit (and still do). Their orchard is located near the foothills of the Cascade mountains on the eastern side of the Willamette Valley, which is famous for its fruit growing soils, and on the flood-plain of the Santiam River. The rocky, clay-heavy soil of our site is responsible for rich spice notes in their cider fruit.
More recently they began making their own cider, including several award winning batches and some of our favorite cider blends from the PNW. To learn more about Idol Cider House & Idyll Acres, visit their website here.
