Puget Sound Cider Company - Virginia Crabapple Cider (750 mL)
Puget Sound Cider Company - Virginia Crabapple Cider (750 mL)
Puget Sound Cider Company's Virginia Crabapple Cider is a single-varietal cider made with Virginia Crabapples from the cidery's Ellensburg area orchard in Central Washington. This bitter-sharp apple variety goes back to the colonial period and was popular for cider making in the late 1700's. The apples are cold pressed before fermentation; the fermented cider is then allowed to mature for 6-12 months prior to bottling. The result is a semi-dry to semi-sweet cider with strong tannins & acidity, and a delightfully tart crabapple kick.
This cider was awarded the Gold Medal at the 2024 Northwest Cider Cup for the High Tannin Sweet category. Previous vintages have also won awards at GLINTCAP and again at the NW Cider Cup.
