Mount Diablo Cider - Gravenstein (750 mL)
Mount Diablo Cider - Gravenstein (750 mL)
A single-varietal cider made with organic Gravenstein apples from Sebastopol, California. The apples are hand harvested, crushed, pressed, wild fermented and aged in French neutral oak barrels before undergoing a secondary fermentation in bottle. Conditioned in bottle in Methode Ancestral. Tasting notes: A sparkling, dry cider with balanced levels of tannins and acidity (medium). Flavor notes of crisp apple, honey, honeydew melon, soft tropical notes, and orange zest. Slightly oaky and with a soft, very slightly buttery mouthfeel.
The rich farmlands of California's Sonoma Country are well known for their Gravenstein harvests, and we're thrilled to have such a beautiful cider representing Sonoma Gravs in our shop! The Gravenstein is a Danish apple first planted in Sonoma County, CA in 1811 by Russian fur trappers. They are difficult to grow, extremely delicate and easily perishable, making them particularly hard to come by. Gravensteins have long been celebrated for their unique and exceptional taste. The flesh has a floral-fruity aroma and balances sweet and tart with subtle acidic nuances, leaving lingering honeyed notes on the palate.
