ANXO Cider - Great Valley Cuvée (750 mL)
ANXO Cider - Great Valley Cuvée (750 mL)
Anxo's Great Valley Cuvee is made from a blend of some of our most beloved cider apple varieties: Dabinett, Golden Russet, Somerset Redstreak, Kingston Black, Black Twig, Stoke Red, Bulmer’s Norman & Tremlett’s Bitter. Spontaneously fermented in oak barrels comes a blend for the ages, an ode to Appalachia where the apples for this cider were grown.
Anxo's first release of a series of three delicious large-format (750 mL) bottles. Each of these new releases is refreshing and has the signature juicy acidity beloved by Anxo fans. The bottled ciders have increased boldness and flavor complexity, relative to most of their canned offerings.
Tasting Notes: Great Valley Cuvée drinks punchy and slightly intense. Dry cider with high acid and medium minus tannins. Tart, slightly sour, with a complex cornucopia of fun flavor notes including citrus pith, lemon juice, candy lemon, kiwi, honeydew melon, light vanilla notes courtesy of barrel fermenting, orange peel, red grapefruit zest, and green apple skins. Erik loves this punchy cider.
About Anxo Cider: Anxo Cider (pronounced Ahn-Cho) is a Washington, D.C. based cidery whose mission is to bring the dry cider cultures of Basque Country and England to cider drinkers in the U.S. Anxo sources cider apple varieties mainly from orchards around the Northeast - primarily Virginia and Pennsylvania. They also bring in apples from cider makers from other parts of the U.S. and the U.K. for special collaborations. All of their ciders are naturally fermented with the wild or native yeast living on the fruit, resulting in refreshing dry ciders - often tart and with apple and fermentation driven complexities.
