ANXO Cider - Harrison (750 mL)
ANXO Cider - Harrison (750 mL)
Anxo's Harrison cider is a single-varietal made from Harrison apples. Discovered on Orange Mountain in New Jersey in the 1700's, the Harrison apple quickly rose to fame for its exquisite cider making abilities. After years of popularity, the variety was nearly wiped out during prohibition. Almost lost, but not forgotten it is our pleasure to showcase the triumphant return of proper East Coast cider. Cheers to cider's legacy being rediscovered, one apple variety at a time.
Anxo's first release of a series of three delicious large-format (750 mL) bottles. Each of these new releases is refreshing and has the signature juicy acidity beloved by Anxo fans. The bottled ciders have increased boldness and flavor complexity, relative to most of their canned offerings.Â
Tasting Notes: Harrison drinks dry (just off dry) with medium-plus to high acidity, medium-minus tannins. Tart and slightly sour with alluring notes of tropical fruit (pineapple, candy lime), green apple, and a very soft oak note. A bold, full body lend to a crisp and revitalizing finish.Â
About Anxo Cider: Anxo Cider (pronounced Ahn-Cho) is a Washington, D.C. based cidery whose mission is to bring the dry cider cultures of Basque Country and England to cider drinkers in the U.S. Anxo sources cider apple varieties mainly from orchards around the Northeast - primarily Virginia and Pennsylvania. They also bring in apples from cider makers from other parts of the U.S. and the U.K. for special collaborations. All of their ciders are naturally fermented with the wild or native yeast living on the fruit, resulting in refreshing dry ciders - often tart and with apple and fermentation driven complexities.Â
