Kristof Farms - Reserve Cider 2021 (750 mL)
Kristof Farms - Reserve Cider 2021 (750 mL)
Cider made in partnership with acclaimed Oregon cidermaker Christine Walter of Bauman's Cider by taking a portion of fermented apple juice (from a blend of traditional cider apples grown on Kristof Farms, including Harrison, Dabinett, Wickson Crab, Yarlington Mill, Golden Russet, Redfield, Vilberie, and Harry Masters Jersey apples), aging it in neutral oak barrels, and then blending it with award-winning ice cider from Eden Specialty Ciders in Vermont. Apple forward with hints of caramel, spice, and canned peaches. Approachable and balanced with a semi-tart finish.
About Kristof Farms Cider & Wine: The Kristof family grows the fruit in their ciders & wines on their Family's estate orchard in Yamhill, Oregon, in the Willamette Valley. The ciders are made in collaboration with Christine Walter of Bauman’s Cider; she is one of America’s greatest cider makers and the alchemist who produced this gold. The land the family's farm was originally established on was inhabited by Native Americans for over 8,000 years. Settlers homesteaded the property in the 1930s, planting a vast orchard of apples, walnuts, prunes, and pie cherries. The Kristof family acquired the land more than twenty years later, and with time converted much of the orchard on the farm to grow more grapes for wine and apples for cider. More than three generations of the Kristof family have poured their souls into this project, which is run today by Pulitzer Prize Winning Journalists (and husband and wife) Nicholas Kristoff and Sheryl WuDunn, and their children Caroline, Gregory, and Geoffrey.
