Haykin Family Cider - Mountain Rose (750 mL)
Haykin Family Cider - Mountain Rose (750 mL)
Haykin Cider's Mountain Rose is a single-varietal, small-batch cider made 100% from Mountain Rose apples - also known as Airlie Red. This red-fleshed apple was discovered in Oregon in the 1950s near the village of Airlie. It has since become a favorite apple for cider makers, especially in the Pacific Northwest. Haykin sources their Mountain Rose apples from Kiyokawa Family Orchards in Oregon.
The Mountain Rose apple has a yellow and green skin, with a dark pink flesh on the inside that yields a deep red juice that upon fermentation leaves a beautiful blush rosé color to the cider.
Tasting Notes: Bright apple aroma with hints of strawberry, cranberry, and almond. Semi-dry with nice acidity and light tannins. Luscious profile - this cider is juicy, tart, and has inviting tiny bubbles. Tart, mouthwatering acidity carries the palate over a soft sweetness of fresh apple. Notes of tart cherry, subtle notes of strawberry, cranberry, and cantaloupe.
