Madrone Cellars - The Isles Cider Piquette (750 mL)
Madrone Cellars - The Isles Cider Piquette (750 mL)
Madrone Cellars' The Isles is a ciderkin made in the same style as Piquette wines. This ciderkin is made using the same fruit crushed and pressed for their 2022 harvest batch of Salish Trio - a cider made from a blend of San Juan Island grown apples, pears, and quince. The leftover pomace (pulp left behind from the pressings) are rehydrated with water and then pressed again. The result is a light, lower sugar content "juice" that is fermented to make this delightful low ABV (3.6%) sparkling ciderkin.
This cider is dry with medium acidity and low tannins. It has a nice floral quince aromatic, though the quince flavor is subdued on the palate. Crisp, clean drinking. Highly refreshing!
Madrone Cider is based on San Juan Island in Washington State. They work with local farms to procure their hard cider apples and local ingredients. Only fresh, natural fruits and ingredients are used during production, to preserve the purity of flavor.
